Our client asked us to create a deck for entertaining friends and family. Set high on the hillside above the roofline of the house, the deck lets them enjoy the view of the Martinez marina. We designed a railing system around the deck that stays visually unobtrusive, using wood and galvanized pipe that matches the color of the grey composite decking.
We broke up the surface of the deck by running some boards perpendicular to others for visual interest. The mix of wood, metal, and composite decking gave it a more sophisticated look than wood alone would have.
