Lookout Deck / Martinez

We were asked to design a deck that would last a long time and require little care or maintenance. I have been using some of the synthetic decking materials for several years and came up with a design that also incorporated some redwood and galvanized pipe. The framing and supports are all pressure treated materials and the deck planks are Weather Best (gray). Although the railing posts were redwood I used a combination of redwood 2x2's and 3/4th inch galvanized pipe for the balusters. To break up the surface of the deck I ran a couple of planks on a 90 degree angle to create three separate areas. This design gave the deck added character. All of the materials tied in well together and the deck looks outstanding!
